Toshiba has recently uncovered the Toshiba 824T, a delightful mobile phone for Japan. The clamshell is the latest addition to Softbank’s ever growing line up for the Japanese manufacturer of electronic devices and consumer products.

The oh-so-good-looking phone comes in four variant colours- two hues of pink namely Pastel Pink and Vivid Pink in addition to Pastel Purple and Pastel Blue. The handset’s colours have been distinctly chosen by Tamio Suenaga who is supposed to be a renowned Japanese colour psychologist.

A mid-end phone, the 824 T comprises of a neat 2.8” QVGA LCD display with 240 x 320 pixels, a 2 Megapixel autofocus camera with video recording, 59MB of internal memory and microSD card support. The luscious device is equipped with one Seg capabilities for mobile TV viewing, 3G connectivity, GPS, Bluetooth and IrDA, bar code reader, Graphic Mail, Web browser, quick access to news, Music and Video players and E-comics. The 824T is powered by a battery that can last up to 3 hours in talk time along with 440 hours in standby mode.

Weighing a mere 112 Gms, the flip phone additionally offers an alphanumeric keypad with large frameless keys. The feature should appease women with long nails as they can use the keypad without any hassles. Furthermore all versions of the phone comprehend pre installed therapeutic music.

The highlight of the phone is the ability of its front case to subtly change its colour depending on what angle you are looking at them from. This attribute is solely for the Pastel Blue and Pastel Pink colours.

The phone comes via SoftBank, the third largest Japanese mobile operator and the only one to offer Apple’s iPhone 3G for users in Japan. While there’s no word on the price yet, the dream phone starts selling in Japan as of today September 6, 2008.
