The TomTom Spark has landed in India, a few months after it made its debut at IFA in Berlin last year. The smartwatch is now available via online retailers Flipkart, Amazon and Snapdeal.
To recall, the company had entered India a year ago with its first range of wearables. This time round, the TomTom Spark offers the same GPS navigation and heart rate monitoring technology but also comes equipped with the ability to store music. It’s a useful tool for people who would rather leave their smartphone behind when taking part in some activity like running.
Specs-wise, the Spark packs 3GB of internal storage for audio. The brand claims there’s enough space on board to store over 500 songs or 56 hours of music. It’s fitted the device with Bluetooth connectivity so consumers won’t have to deal with wires. However, this setup means they’ll have to buy a separate Bluetooth-ready pair of headphones.
TomTom is selling the Music version of the gadget with bundled headphones for Rs 21999. The wearable’s basic GPS model is priced at Rs 13999, the Music or Cardio-only unit for Rs 17999 and the Cardio, Music and GPS variant with headphones for Rs 25999. The brand also has its own MySports app to let users keep a track of their fitness data.
Like other smartwatches in the market, the Spark records information such as the number of steps walked, heart rate, sleep duration and calories burned. It comes with a multi-sport mode for specific activities like swimming, running, gymming and cycling. The straps for the device are available in a large (143 – 206mm) and small (121 – 175mm) size.
Like we said above, the TomTom Spark is available through Snapdeal, Amazon and Flipkart starting at Rs 13999.
