Tether For iPhone 01

The Tether for iPhone app is all set to be launched yet again for users all around the world. This could mean faster access to the internet within the existing data plan signed up for with the smartphone.

This software was released way back in 2009 for BlackBerry phones, as mentioned on the official Tether blog. The initiative was primarily taken to deliver a hassle-free internet connection to smartphone users while on the move. Because hunting for Wi-Fi hotspots can often be a real pain in the neck.

“It was clear from our initial application iTether, there was enormous demand within the iPhone ecosystem. It was unfortunate that Apple decided to remove our application, only 20 hours after we launched. However, this caused us to innovate. Our underlying patent-pending technology behind Tether for iPhone is unlike anything on the market,” commented Tim Burke, CEO of Tether.

With this app, owners of smartphones can receive simple access to an internet connection on their current network plan. It can be used for desktops and laptops, sparing users the trouble of locating a Wi-Fi hotspot. One of the major reasons why Tether looks promising is the fact that it can be used at any given place. This application works irrespective of the kind of carrier or network available.

The new Tether version is basically based on HTML5 and generates a thorough wireless connection over AdHoc. This eliminates the need of laying hands on the app from the Apple App Store. Owing to this, any iPad or iPhone with a data connection may reap the benefits of tethering.

Presently, Tether for iPhone can be accessed by visiting the website tether.com.
