TeliaSonera to bring iPhone in Scandinavian and Baltic markets

TeliaSonera and Apple logo Denmark, Estonia, Finland, Latvia, Lithuania, Norway and Sweden will be receiving the iPhone through TeliaSonera, where the Finnish telecommunications operator is the leading one.

Central Asia and Spain, Russia and Turkey and potential markets in the rest of Eurasia, will also receive the iPhone through the operator, according to the announcements made.

Apple’s iPhone was not available in the Nordic markets till now. This implies that the iPhone is yet to achieve a worldwide popularity. No wonders, the Apple CEO is aggressively strategizing the supply of the iPhone, and changing policies by embracing all the possible leading carriers to supply the iPhone!

Just a few days back, Orange was reported to supply the iPhone in Austria, Belgium, the Dominican Republic, Egypt, Jordan, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Slovakia, Switzerland, and some African markets. Vodafone was also selected by Apple to supply the iPhone in Australia, the Czech Republic, Egypt, Greece, Italy, India, Portugal, New Zealand, South Africa and Turkey.

Not much of the details have been revealed by TeliaSonera except that the phone is due to be launched later this year in the Nordic and Baltic markets.

There were reports of dropped sales of the iPhone in European markets after the phone was launched in the US last year. Now with rumors about the 3G iPhone’s launch on June 9, will the aforementioned markets get the next-generation iPhone?
