T-Mobile brings in OTA update for myTouch 3G Slide handset

T-Mobile MyTouch Update Not so long ago, we reported about the HTC EVO 4G receiving an upgrade delivering a plethora of exciting features to mobile aficionados. The latest to enter this space is the myTouch 3G Slide handset offered through T-Mobile which receives an over-the-air update. With this upgrade, consumers will enjoy an array of improvements from battery to new software features such as Faves Gallery and Genius Button.

Firstly, this update is for the phone and not to the Android operating system. It will enhance the battery life by updating the T-Mobile online contact backup connection. After this upgrade, users can seamlessly send MMS messages when connected to Wi-Fi. The Genius Button enhancements allow users to utilize their voice for turning on and off the GPS system.

In the near future, the company intends to announce Caller ID for incoming calls. It will also enable users to attend or ignore calls by just utilizing the voice and reply to the incoming text messages through dictation. The Faves icon after the upgrade will be placed beside notifications. This icon will indicate that the communication is brought by one of the Faves while the handset is locked.

Other than this, the display and general stability of Fave images will be enhanced including continuous scrolling and consistent display of pictures.

Users will receive notifications about the update via a free SMS text message from T-Mobile until August 19, 2010.
