Synaptics to demo new features on Fuse Mobile Phone Concept at Mobile World Congress 2010

Fuse Mobile Phone Concept

Remember the Fuse phone concept which made its presence felt at the CES this year. Well, the device surfaces once again and this time at the 2010 Mobile World Congress wherein Synaptics plans to demonstrate new capabilities on the Fuse mobile phone concept along with Fuse partners including TI, Immersion, TheAlloy, and TAT.

At CES, Fuse showcased multiple interface technologies which include multi-touch capacitive sensing, haptic feedback, 3-D graphics and force sensing. Claiming to be apt for the Mobile World Congress theme, “Vision in Action”, the partners will exhibit the next development of user interface experiences which will leverage the innovative input and feedback technologies.

The Fuse concept was conceived to resolve the human interface challenges faced by the handsets- single-handed usage and the need to look at the screen. The Fuse partners will now display newer interactions like dialing and navigation from the back of the device, a gaming application with the side grip and scrolling sensors and also optimized haptic feedback technology.

Fuse partners will demo the device at the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona, February 15 to 18.
