The Swipe Junior has been launched in India and is now available via various online retailers including Flipkart, Amazon, Paytm and Snapdeal. The handset is priced at Rs 5999 and is aimed at kids who are between 5 to 15 years old.
The 3G-ready Swipe Junior houses various tools to help parents keep a tab on their child’s activities. For instance, geo-positioning allows them to monitor the places their kid goes to in addition to setting safe and danger zones. The Android 4.4 KitKat-based UI has been designed for younger users with pre-loaded apps, wallpapers and interactive books.
Swipe has also granted parents the ability to check the contacts list and delete unwanted numbers. An app management system fills them in on the details of what their child does with the handset and how long they’re using each application, in addition to blocking tools. There’s also a one-step SOS emergency dialing function on-board.

Moving on to its specs, the Junior carries a 4.5-inch IPS screen with a resolution of 800 x 480p. Swipe claims the smartphone is encased within a shock proof body which is apparently resistant to water and won’t break if dropped. Under the hood, it’s powered by a 1.3GHz dual-core processor and 512MB of RAM.

The Junior packs 4GB of ROM and derives its power from a 1900mAh battery, which apparently lasts for 8 hours of talk time and 120 hours of standby time. Coming to its photography capabilities, the Swipe device sports a 2MP rear camera with LED flash and a 0.3MP front-facing snapper.
