A price of Rs. 6,990 has been revealed for the all new Swipe Halo Value which the company is touting as the first 2G calling tablet with Jelly Bean and dual SIM slots, in India.
With a lot of similar devices coming tied to a tag that could offer stiff competition to the device, those interested in this option will obviously want to know if it’s worth the label. Firstly, a modest screen of 7 inches and 5-point capacitive multi-touch support sits on the front panel. The 7-inch width is a rather clever size for a slate at present considering that phablets are starting to bridge the gap between smartphones and tablets.
The main specs of the Android device cover a 1.5GHz CPU working with 512MB RAM to power all the main operations users task it with. Sipping off a 3400mAh battery which can go on for an unspecified number of hours, the slate delivers Wi-Fi and Bluetooth connectivity. Users’ hoarding space is not restricted to the 4GB of onboard memory that comes along with it since there’s an integrated microSD slot which take a card of up to 32GB. A very basic 2MP lens serves as the main camera, while there’s a 0.3MP VGA one on the front panel.
Capable of allowing users to make voice calls (as well as video calls over Skype, apparently), the dual SIM gadget permits access to the Google Play market. One of its highlighted features is Face Unlock with Liveliness Check; meaning the user has to look into the front snapper and blink in order to access the slab. No more fears of someone holding a picture of the owner’s face up to the lens and unlocking the tablet, we guess.
Apart from the Swipe Halo Value, the company has also introduced the Tab X74S, 3G and Edge to this particular series in the past. Though the latest tablet is supposed to be available for purchase through the manufacturer’s online portal and other retailers, Infibeam appears to be the only one stocking it at present and that too, at Rs. 6,999.
