The iPhone does not have many gaming peripherals associated with it. However, there is a new fun peripheral that will definitely enhance a users’ gaming experience.
Engadget iMobile states that CTA Digital has designed a plastic steering wheel for the iPhone that enables gamers to experience the real feel of racing games such as Ferrari GT. CTA Digital is a company that manufactures various game controllers. This peripheral is called “Basic Steering Wheel for iPhone and iPod Touch.” This gizmo apparently works with most horizontally configured racing games.
It arrives with adaptors for the iPhone, the iPhone 3G, the iPod Touch, and the iPod Touch 2G. It definitely offers an enhanced gaming experience, as it is rather difficult to control racing games by tilting the iPhone back and forth.
The basic idea is that users have to fix their iPhones into the cut out on the wheel and then use the wheel to tilt the phone for steering.
There is no official announcement about the pricing. However, it is expected to cost around $20.
