The Sprint Samsung Galaxy S III that was supposed to be made available today will not ship as per plan. According to the carrier’s official blog, the growing demand for the smartphone has led to insufficient stock.

The 16GB version has already begun shipping and it should reach pre-order customers by June 21, that’s today. The 32GB variant will be delivered to potential users once the shipments arrive. The network provider is vending the device with a range of unlimited data plans and the pre-installed Google Wallet app.

Just as a reminder, the phone operates on a 1.5GHz dual core processor and is built-in with 2GB RAM. The ICS treat is layered with the TouchWiz user interface for speeding up the mobile experience. There’s an 8MP main camera affixed on the back panel along with a front-facing 1.9MP sensor for video conferencing.

The front portion features a 4.8-inch HD Super AMOLED touchscreen that’s reinforced by Gorilla Glass 2. A host of intuitive features like S Beam, Smart Alert and others have been thrown into mix. Most of us already know that the carrier is not offering the 4G LTE network, for now. The 16GB device price is marked at $199.99, while the 32GB version can be bought for $249.99. The cost is part of a 2-year service agreement on a new line or eligible upgrade.

Recently, the phone’s Canada shipping date was postponed to June 27 and this Sprint Samsung Galaxy S III shipping delay was probably expected by some since then.
