Sprint rushes the announcement of Samsung Galaxy S II Epic 4G Touch

Sprint has made no delay to announce itself as the carrier of Samsung Galaxy S II smartphone in the United States, personalizing it as Epic 4G Touch. The announcement follows the official declaration by Samsung about the availability of Galaxy S II in America by this fall.

The Samsung Galaxy S II Epic 4G Touch features the new 1.2GHz dual-core Exynos processor by Samsung and is based on Android 2.3 Gingerbread. The 0.38-inch slim device flaunts a 4.52-inch Super AMOLED Plus touchscreen along with 2MP camera on the front. On the rear, it sports an 8MP camera with auto-focus and flash that shoots 1080p HD videos.

The handset is Bluetooth version 3.0, 3G/4G mobile hotspot capable and Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n/a enabled which supports up to eight devices. The external memory of the device is expandable up to 32GB with a microSD card. Other features include Vlingo voice talk service, visual voicemail and task manager.

The Sprint offered Samsung Galaxy S II Epic 4G Touch will be available through all Sprint sales channels from September 16. Excluding taxes, it is priced at $199.99 and comes with a new two-year agreement or eligible upgrade. It can also be pre-ordered by purchasing a $50 gift card from Sprint stores.
