Sprint Kyocera Torque price and release date exposed in US, is built rugged

The Kyocera Torque price and release date have been divulged by Sprint and the handset can be purchased for $99 from March 8. Buyers should note that this amount is excluding taxes and the device comes with a 2-year service agreement.

The maker claims that the handset has been manufactured taking into account a variety of conditions that users may be exposed to. The device has been designed to hold its ground against water sprays, therefore meeting the required criteria of IP67 and Military Standard 810G certification. In addition to this, it is also resistant to dust, shock and vibration. The external sheath of the handset has been made from Dura-Grip material that allows users to obtain a firm grip onto it. The 4-inch touchscreen has been constructed from a scratch-resistant glass that shields it from imminent scrapes.

The device runs on the Ice Cream Sandwich platform and this shouldn’t pose as too much of a letdown considering the asking amount. The smartphone consists of a dual core Snapdragon CPU that speeds up things with a clock rate of 1.2GHz. The phone hides a Li-polymer battery with a large capacity of 2500mAh. The Eco Mode in conjunction with MaxiMZR helps conserve the power by cutting data connection for apps that are not being used. 1GB of RAM is provided along with 4GB of ROM which can be extended up to 32GB via a microSD card.

Users would be able to take advantage of multiple features that engulf the 5MP main camera which include panorama, facial recognition, smile detection and burst mode amongst others. The manufacturer has also packed in a 1.3MP front-facing lens along with dual speakers which are empowered with Smart Sonic Receiver. This should drown out all background noises for consumers, enabling them to listen to conversations clearly. The phone will come with 4G LTE and customers can also benefit from the carrier’s Direct Connect service. Connectivity can be attained through NFC, Bluetooth 4.0 and Wi-Fi.
