Spotify’s ‘Your Library’ Section Has Much Richer Browsing Options Now

Spotify Your Library

If you’re a Spotify regular you most probably use the ‘Your Library’ section to access your playlists and favorites. The makers of the streaming service have now decided to add several new features to this section to make your life easier. This update, aimed only at the mobile versions, has been perceived as a way to streamline ‘Your Library’ and offer better search options, among other things.

“Starting today, we are rolling out a new version of Your Library to all Spotify mobile users. Now, you’ll have a more streamlined way to easily explore your collection and find your saved music and podcasts faster. Your Library’s updated design and added features will enable you to spend less time looking for content and organizing your collection, and more time rediscovering the music and podcasts you’ve loved over the years. And as always, keep adding even more content for a library that grows alongside you into the future,” the company said in a blog post.

Most important among the new Spotify features is a search option that allows you to find songs or podcasts within ‘Your Library.’ Then there are dynamic filters, which act as quick searches by letting you search by Playlists, Artists, Albums, Podcasts, Downloaded, etc with one tap. The best part is you can even club two of these options together to get a deeper search. Combing Downloaded with Podcasts for instance will give you all the podcasts that you stored on your phone for offline listening.

New sorting options also make their way into Spotify’s ‘Your Library’ section. You can sort them alphabetically, by recently played, or by creator name. An option to pin playlists, albums, or podcasts finds its way into this update as well, apart from a new Grid view that makes sorting through your music a more visual experience with large album art layouts.

Both the Android and iOS versions of Spotify should get this update in the coming days.
