The good news for music lovers is that the popular on-demand music streaming service, Spotify is ready for Windows Phone. Microsoft has declared that the app will be joining the other services on Windows Phone such as Microsoft’s Zune Pass and Slacker Radio.

Capable of working on Windows Phone 6 and above, the forthcoming app lets users listen to their favorite tracks anywhere and anytime. The application offers users instant access to more than 15 million songs and lets them stream the tracks online. Music can also be enjoyed offline without the need for a mobile connection.

With the music service, users can share the tracks with friends over Facebook as well as send them to Last.fm. The company says that the handsets apt for enjoying a smooth Spotify experience on the Windows Phone platform include the HTC HD2, HTC Touch Pro 2, Samsung Omnia 2, Sony Ericsson Xperia X1 and Sony Ericsson Xperia X2.

Owing to the offline mode which is available on a Premium account, users can easily sync their favorite playlists over Wi-Fi so that they can listen to music whenever they want sans any data plan charges. The music service provides background music streaming to users of Windows Phone 7.5 even when the app is closed.

For acquiring the Spotify music app for Windows Phone, users will have to sign up for a Spotify Premium account. They can then install the app for free from the Windows Marketplace or via m.spotify.com. The exact availability date of the app for the Microsoft mobile platform has not yet been revealed.
