Keeping a track of the IT infrastructure, administering it and connecting with peers from anywhere at any point of time is now more than simple for professionals. A new version of Spiceworks Mobile app introduced for Android devices and iPhone helps IT professionals to monitor the network.
The app facilitates accessing, editing and monitoring the help desk along with helping them to stay up-to-date with the status of their servers, software applications and cloud services. As it is a native application, it requires a low bandwidth and is capable of working over a VPN or 3G network.
“By bringing Spiceworks to both the Android and iPhone mobile platforms, we’re making it easier for nearly every small business IT pro to support and keep tabs on their networks no matter where they are,” believes Francis Sullivan, co-founder and CTO of Spiceworks. “It’s another example of how we’re working with our 1.5 million users to find new and better ways to help them manage everything IT.”
A Spiceworks user profile can be created and updated which helps users to access the contact information of other employees. Uploading pictures on these Spiceworks profiles and viewing user profiles of other professionals is possible, on their handsets. Users can also raise queries, view and comment on posts in their community of IT pros on Spiceworks’ IT social network.

The company boasts of technology providers like Microsoft, Google, Dell and Intel and more than 1.5 million professionals who connect through Spiceworks networks to manage technology products and services worth $252 every year.
The Spiceworks Mobile app for Android mobile devices and iPhone can be downloaded from the Android Market.
