With an ambitious aim of putting superzoom-capable machines right in your pockets, Sony has introduced us to the new Cyber-shot HX90V and WX500 cameras. These compact shooters are able to offer 30x optical and 60x digital zoom with their Zeiss Vario-Sonnar T lenses.
The new Sony Cyber-shot HX90V and WX500 cameras are slated to hit markets this June for the equivalent prices of $430 and $330, respectively. The $100 difference between the two offerings is constituted by three main attributes which the HX90V possesses and the WX500 doesn’t.
First among them is a pop-up OLED viewfinder that can also be found on the Sony RX100 III, whereas the second one is GPS which can be used for geotagging your photos. Lastly, there’s even a customizable control ring present on the premium device.
All other features of both these cameras are practically the same. For starters, there’s an 18.2MP BSI CMOS sensor which is complemented by a Bionz X processor. A neat asset for such snappers to posses is 5-axis image stabilization, and Sony has ensured that both its new machines can boast of it.

The HX90V and WX500 cameras ship with NFC and Wi-Fi support, while they even kick in a 3-inch LCD monitor that can flip a full 180 degrees for letting you snap high-resolution selfies. Moreover, 1080p full HD videos are supported by both these shooters as well.
Touted to be the world’s smallest 30x zoom cameras, the Sony Cyber-shot HX90V and WX500 are all set to land in markets this June alongside new accessories that include a LCJ-HWA body case and a ECM-CG60 shotgun microphone. Stay tuned for news about their arrival in India.
