Sony Ericsson has made its entry in the Windows Mobile market with Xperia X1a manufactured by HTC. Xperia X1a is a touch screen smart phone with several new and innovative features in it. It is Sony Ericsson’s first mobile to feature Windows Mobile operating system.

Xperia X1a features a 3” touchscreen display with 800 x 480 pixels for resolution. The phone overlays a QWERTY keyboard. The device supports quadband GSM with a tri band W-CDMA bands with HSPA and GPS support too. X1a features a unique panel interface that gives the user one touch access to games, applications and other functions. Xperia seems to be a good device for professionals as it is capable of receiving push corporate emails and calendars. It allows the users to access the web using the integrated Wi-Fi access. The users are offered with Mobile office to view and edit files in Word, Excel and Power point.

It incorporates a panel technology that allows Sony Ericsson to create its own user experience. X1a offers a 3.2 MP camera with touch auto focus capabilities with VGA quality. The phone is built-in with GPS for navigation purposes. The phone is equipped with only 400 MB of internal memory which further can be increased up to 16 GB. It’s a multimedia phone that supports various audio and video formats. Xperia incorporates a built-in radio player.

The panels offered by the Sony Ericsson are as follows:

  • Microsoft Today panel which is the real Microsoft today screen.
  • Google panel, it provides access to all Google services.
  • Media Experience panel provides access to new music player and file manager.
  • Slideshow panel, it enables to view the recently taken videos and images in a slide show.
  • 3D Flash panel, it shows the 3D graphics.
  • This long waited Xperia X1a will hit the stores from November 28 in US for $799.
