Sony has released the CP-V3 portable USB charger for all those of you who are left scurrying around for a power source and some times even a charger, by the end of the day. This compact gadget gives you that much needed extra usage time on the move, without having to stick your phone into a wall socket.
The CP-V3 is a stylish device and comes drenched in 5 vibrant shades of black, blue, red, purple and white. One of the main advantages is that it not only works with the Xperia smartphones, but also plays well with most of the conventional mobile devices. Moreover, this charger is meant for you if you own any other Sony gadget belonging to the Cyber-shot, HandyCam or Walkman lineups.
A lithium-polymer rechargeable battery of 2800mAh capacity manufactured by Sony, hides within the device. You can charge it via a computer’s USB port or an AC USB adapter, just like your phone. The adapter is not included in the box, but it does tag along a USB cable. The add-on takes about 3.5 hours to charge completely when you plug it into an AC adapter and if you have connected it to a computer, it will require about 6 hours.
The portable charger’s output as well as supply time is said to be 60 minutes each. It operates well in temperatures ranging from 0°C to 35°C. And as for the dimensions of the device, it measures 38.8 x 99 x 19 millimeters and is light in weight at 84 grams.
