Sony Alpha A7S, DSLT A77II and RX100 III cameras unveiled in India

The Sony Alpha 7S, along with the Alpha 77II and Cyber-shot RX100 III cameras have been announced for India, and while the former is slated for a mid-July release the other two are already available in the country. These high-end snappers offer extremely advanced attributes which place their prices on the expensive side of things.

First up is the Sony Alpha 7S which grabs a full-frame construct and a DSLR-style design. It delivers 4K video recording capabilities and pairs the advanced attributes of its 12.2MP 35mm sensor with a BIONZ X image processor giving it an ISO sensitivity range which can stretch from 50 to 409600. When available, it will be priced at Rs 154990.

Sony Alpha 7S and 77II

Next is the Sony Alpha 77II which boasts of featuring ‘the world’s highest’ phase-detection AF point count of 79 points with 15 cross points. Apart from a 24.3MP sensor, a rugged magnesium alloy body and a BIONZ X processor, it also flaunts high-speed AF tracking and up to 12fps bursts. It will retail in India at Rs 84990 in body-only form.

The Sony Cyber-shot RX100 III is not a professional grade camera like the other two. It’s a compact device that has been equipped with a ZEISS Vario Sonnar 24-70mm retractable lens and a 20.1MP 1.0-type sensor. Its other important features include an OLED Tru-Finder with ZEISS T* coating, a flip LCD, 50Mbps bit-rate full HD movies and more. Sony says that its retail value has been placed at Rs 54990.

Cyber-shot RX100 III

The Sony Alpha 7S, Alpha 77II and Cyber-shot RX100 III camera will be made available in India through flagship stores, Sony centers and select retail outlets.
