Smartlinq GPS phone Now-a-days almost all smartphones offer GPS capabilities. However, this latest handset from UK based Smartlinq comes with innovative emergency features.

The GPS phone includes a minimum set of buttons alongside an on-board GPS system, reports Ubergizmo. The phone is said to incorporate emergency button, four pre-programmable buttons, track and trace via GPS, adjustable safety zones, motion sensors and GSM quad band. This system offers instant tracking facility.

Users simply have to press the SOS button, when in difficulty. The operator instantly answers the call and identifies the handheld’s exact location. Concurrently, it also accesses the user’s medical history, contact information and all other necessary information.

The operator will also offer emergency services to the user’s exact location. Apart from the emergency service, it alerts a designated contact by means of text message or email.

The handset measures 86mm x 46mm x 16.8mm and weighs just around 72 grams. The device offers the SiRF Star III GPS module and also supports all GSM bands (850/900/1800/1900). It features an LED backlit keyboard, includes 32MB of flash memory and 16MB of RAM memory.

The GPS phone is retailed for £149.99 and users need to shell out a monthly fee of £12.99 for a ‘Careline Package’.
