Slacker Radio comes to Windows Mobile 6.5

Slacker Logo Slacker has announced its Slacker Radio application for Windows Mobile 6.5 to first feature on the HTC HD2. The application allows users to tune into their favorite stations on the go. The HTC HD2 device has been made available in the US by T-Mobile USA.

The radio provides users with a sensitive interface and unmatched music search option across artist biographies, album reviews and lyrics of a particular song. Moreover, the application gives users the privilege to block an artist or a song and stick to only their preferences, thus tuning customized radio stations on their mobile phones.

Talking about the launch of the application, Senior Vice President, Marketing, Jonathan Sasse said that, “Slacker offers music lovers an opportunity to enjoy free music on-the-go, whether they are listening on their computers, smartphones or through their home entertainment devices. Expanding to the Windows Mobile platform with HTC HD2 from T-Mobile USA allows us to offer our service on all of the most popular mobile platforms providing our millions of listeners with immense flexibility on when and where they listen.”

The radio application has certain commendable features like a music library with approximately a million songs to choose from, superior quality stereo playback on any wireless connection, customizable radio stations, over 120 stations, option to view artist biographies, check reviews and rate songs as well. The application contains over 120 radio stations categorized genre-wise and also ‘spotlight stations’ inclusive of Artist Showcase stations and certain new stations from The Source Magazine and Filter Magazine.

This application comes free for all Windows Mobile users. While the HTC HD2 comes pre-loaded with it, other Windows Mobile 6.5 device users can download it from the smartphone browser via slacker.com.
