Skype too marked its presence at the event with the announcement of its Mobile Partner Program for operators.
The innovative program had been revealed specially for operators in markets that have comparatively lower 3G broadband seepage. The program intends bringing the Skype experience to more than 100 varied mobile phones, according to the official Skype blog.
With this program, mobile operators should be able to offer consumers added perks that match up with the competition in the market. Adopting a simplistic model, the program employs a specifically built client/server solution. Tailored for mobile operators in particular, it should enable Skype to reach a host of handsets including both smartphones and feature phones.
What’s more, every version of Skype coughed up via this program is made effective for maximum bandwidth usage in an efficient manner. Mobile users are rest assured of staying in touch with family and friends without running out on battery life. The impact on data usage too is said to be minimum.
Following closely in heels to Skype’s operator partnerships with Verizon, KDDI and Hutchison 3, this program too can be rolled out seamlessly.
