Skype 5.7 for iPhone now updated with ‘smarter and faster’ chat features

The new Skype 5.7 for iPhone update which developers of the immensely popular video and voice chatting platform have released just now has been aimed at infusing the app with features requested by its users. Available for download now through the Apple App Store, this version of the utility comes just weeks after Microsoft released another big update to it, making it compatible with all screen sizes on iOS devices.

Skype 5.7 finally brings with it the ability to save photographs and other images that are sent in its chats. With the new addition, all users of the service will be able to store a photo to their camera rolls or delete a sent photo from their chats just by pressing and holding on the image and choosing the action.

The makers of the application have also blessed it with faster chat load times this time around. After installing a new update, if you receive a notification and tap it to open the app, the arrived message will be thrown in front of you without any delays, as opposed to earlier.

With the 5.7 version of Skype, all avatars of people as well as groups will be visible, irrespective of them having been changed on platforms other than iOS. Aside from all this, the developers have also altered the UI a bit to give users easy access to the People list search and filter options.
