SkyDrive App 01

SkyDrive for Windows Phone and iOS has now been tweaked to provide a much better cloud storage experience. Through the update, users in possession of devices running on these platforms can now carry out various tasks like the ability to rename, move and delete files stored in their accounts.

The application seems to have welcomed a number of bug fixes and a host of minor improvements that are said to enhance the overall experience. And with this release, users should even be able to keep a check on the remaining storage capacity. There’s also landscape support coming in to provide added flexibility of accessing the app in different orientations.

SkyDrive App 02

“SkyDrive has been available since 2007 from anywhere in the world through SkyDrive.com, but it wasn’t until the initial release of Windows Phone and our dedicated Windows Phone and iPhone apps in December 2011 that people had top-notch SkyDrive experiences from modern smartphones. These apps have been installed on over 2 million phones already by people taking SkyDrive with them wherever they go,” reads a post on the official Building Windows 8 blog.

The SkyDrive app was previously released for mobile devices back in December 2011. And its main goal is aimed at facilitating on-the-go data storage. As Microsoft puts it, this release will soon be seen arriving on the iPad, bearing all features delivered in its iPhone counterpart. It might even rub along nicely with the iPad’s Retina display.

SkyDrive for Windows Phone and iOS devices can be downloaded via their corresponding app stores.
