Skifta arrives as the first DLNA certified software app

Qualcomm Logo The new Software Certification program of Digital Living Network Alliance (DLNA) seems to have bought some good news for Skifta. Yes, this application – based media shifting service now emerges as the very first app to be certified by DLNA. Known to be a product of Qualcomm Services Labs, Skifta enables smartphone users to access and play their digital media from almost any source, like their smartphone or any other home-based electronic device.

Android smartphone users can now connect digital music, photos and videos from the phone easily to DLNA Certified electronic devices. DLNA Certification empowers Skifta to offer a reliable, interoperable platform for smartphones to connect media with home appliances. The app assists in delivering multimedia content stored on DLNA Certified devices to handsets.

With the help of rapid adoption of DLNA-enabled devices, the app ensures access to digital media from anywhere, at anytime. This app is predicted to stream in multimedia content at a great speed.

The Skifta application beta is a free download through the Android Marketplace for smartphones that run Android version 2.2 and higher.
