Shoot and Tag out now in Nokia Beta Labs

Shoot and Tag

Forwarding or rewinding lengthy video clips on handsets just to catch a glimpse of a particularly fascinating bit can sometimes turn out to be a nerve-racking experience. To get rid of such problems, the official Nokia Conversations blog has announced the availability of the Shoot and Tag app via Nokia Beta Labs.

As its name suggests, Shoot and Tag automatically tags scenes when shooting to enhance video capture and playback. After installing and launching this app, the mobile phones’ camera gets activated and is ready to film. However, it is the red key on the handset’s screen and not the normal camera button which will begin the actual recording process.

When capturing scenes, if users stop at certain points to record something in particular, the app creates a ‘Tag’ of this event. It will continue adding tags on the left side of the screen throughout the recording. To enable quick access, the video playback screen shows all the tagged scenes piled on to the right hand side of the display.

Users can watch clips from the video library later by first launching the app and then pressing the movie icon. Single clicking on the main video image will play the concerned movie, while double pressing a tag results in skipping on to the desired part. Shoot and Tag is compatible with Symbian^3 and S60 5th Edition handsets.

The app is available for download through the Nokia Beta Labs website.
