SanDisk rolls out Connect Wireless Stick starting at Rs 2790

The SanDisk Connect Wireless Stick has been launched in India and will be available starting from September 18 via Flipkart. The company plans to eventually sell it through other retailers as well.

The SanDisk Connect Wireless Stick can be bought in four different storage variants consisting of a 16GB one at Rs 2790, 32GB for Rs 3790, 64GB at Rs 5490 and 128GB for Rs 9490. It comes with a built-in Wi-Fi hotspot that allows it to transfer content to multiple devices such as smartphones, laptops and tablets.

SanDisk claims the pen drive’s battery capacity allows it to stream a single HD video at a speed of 2Mbps for up to 4.5 hours on a single charge. It only supports USB 2.0 ports, which is a tad disappointing given the widespread availability of 3.0 slots nowadays. The gadget is further equipped with WPA2, so users can set a Wi-Fi password to protect their data.

The USB flash drive can broadcast videos to a maximum of 3 devices. It works in tandem with the SanDisk Connect Drive app, compatible with both iOS and Android platforms. Other than managing content, it also automatically backs up data such as images and videos.

The application requires at least iOS version 8.0 or Android 4.2 KitKat. The SanDisk device doesn’t consume any mobile data while transferring content between devices, relying entirely on Wi-Fi to carry out its tasks. It has a slim profile, sized at 20.83 x 78.21 x 12.19mm in terms of dimensions.

Like we mentioned earlier, the SanDisk Connect Wireless Stick is priced at Rs 2790 for its basic 16GB model. It will be up for sale exclusively through Flipkart on September 21. You can download the companion app via the Google Play Store or Apple iTunes Store.
