Samsung to provide bada 2.0 update for all Wave handsets

Samsung Bada 2.0Samsung has announced that the recently released updated version of the bada operating system will be available for all Wave devices. The company revealed this information on its official Samsung bada twitter page in conversation with SammyHub in reference with the 2.0 version which was till now functional only on three handsets namely Wave 3, M and Y.

Although there are ten Samsung mobile phones running on the bada operating system, only these three were powered by the updated version. But following this announcement even the older Wave devices will be updated to 2.0. However the tweet reveals that the features accompanying this updated OS could vary from phone to phone according to their respective specifications like the CPU, memory, etc.

As per the revelation, the updated OS will be provided to all Wave handsets from the fourth quarter of this year. It will first be available in Europe, to be followed soon after by other nations. The upgraded bada system comes with features such as multi-tasking, voice recognition and NFC. It includes Wi-Fi Direct by which devices are enabled to share content without wireless access points. Furthermore, the new version on bada incorporates support for HTML5 that enhances Flash functions and web browsing.

Services such as mobile payment, transport pass-card recharge and file sharing are offered by the updated OS. Additionally bada 2.0 provides support for the Javascript framework and WAC 2.0. It made its debut with the new Samsung Wave 3 smartphone which had released earlier this month. It is being speculated that the cheaper Wave handsets like 525 and 533 may not receive all features of the new OS. Nonetheless users of Wave I S8500 and II S8530 will be able to experience them.

The news ought to serve as a reason for Wave users to cheer as their wait to get this update seems to have come to an end.
