It seems that the Samsung Galaxy W is soon to arrive for T-Mobile in the form of T679. The T679 has just been passed by FCC and appears to be a very similar cousin of the Galaxy variant.
Pocketnow reports that the Samsung Galaxy W was announced at the end of August along with four other smartphones to join the company’s Android line-up. It has also been named as per the new naming strategy of the company and belongs to the ‘W’ category. Models of this section are said to be of advanced quality and feature just below the ‘S’ category.
According to CellPhone Signal, The T-Mobile bound T679 bears resemblance to the Galaxy W in many ways. Both possess a 3.7-inch WVGA LCD display with a screen resolution of 480 × 800 and the look is also more or less the same. The new T679 runs on Android 2.3 and equips 4GB of internal memory which is expandable up to 32GB through microSD cards. Powered by a 1.4GHz processor, it is said to be a mid-level device and will most probably come at an affordable price.
Many connectivity options such as high speed 3G network, Bluetooth 3.0, GPRS, EDGE, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n and hotspot are provided by the handset. Operating on a 1500mAh battery, it comes integrated with a 5MP camera.
The exact pricing and availability of the Samsung Galaxy W and details regarding its arrival at T-Mobile as T679 have not yet been revealed.
