The Samsung Stratosphere 2 and LG Spectrum 2 Verizon smartphones are apparently gearing up for launch via the network provider in the US. However, the carrier is yet to shed some light on their price and release date.

The currently available Stratosphere and Spectrum handsets made their debut via the carrier back in October and January, respectively. According to Droid Life that dug up the news via Verizon’s Equipment Guide, the refreshed version of the former handset is likely to house a Snapdragon S4 processor, considering that most other 4G LTE devices employ the same.

This upgraded Samsung smartphone is said to drag along a similar 4-inch Super AMOLED display and form factor seen in its predecessor. Needless to say, texters will have access to a slide-out QWERTY keypad for quick input. With regards to LG’s beefed up handset, it’s reveal that the device could share various specifications with the Optimus LTE 2.

The Spectrum 2 is anticipated to draw power from Qualcomm’s Snapdragon S4 dual core processor that operates at 1.5GHz. This CPU teams up with 1GB of RAM in order to enable smooth multitasking. The handset might also rely on an HD touch panel for displaying content. Buyers can watch out for an 8MP rear-facing camera that the device is rumored to arrive with.

As mentioned above, the Samsung Stratosphere 2 and LG Spectrum 2 Verizon price and release date details are still under wraps.
