Samsung puts forth Galaxy S Fascinate through Verizon Wireless

Samsung has been on a roll these days, augmenting its lineup of handsets with the Galaxy S Series. The latest addition to its Galaxy S series is the brand new Samsung Fascinate. The Android 2.1 powered device is to be launched through the prominent Verizon Wireless networks. The stylish new phone is set to fascinate consumers with its mirror black finish with added chrome details.

The Fascinate proffers support to the Android Market, Google Mobile Services that incorporate Gmail, YouTube, and others. The device is pre-loaded with Bing Maps and Bing Search, and endows the user with a complete HTML web browsing ability. The Samsung Fascinate empowers its users to transform their device into a wireless modem and offer support for up to five compatible Wi-Fi operated devices, with the 3G Mobile HotSpot capabilities it utilizes.

The smartphone sports a four-inch Super AMOLED touchscreen display, which improvises on the viewing and gaming experience to take it to a higher level. The touchscreen is coupled with superior touchscreen gestures ability, including horizontal swiping, multi-touch pinch to zoom and double tap to zoom. These capabilities facilitate an effortless and faster access to various apps like web browsing, location-based services and digital photos or videos. It supports multiple file formats including DivX support.

The Samsung device equips 1GHz Cortex A8 Hummingbird application processor that generates incredible graphics, quicker uploading and downloading and HD-like multimedia content. It also uses a Six-axis sensor which amalgamates with the handset’s accelerometer to present a seamless and smooth gaming experience as the user tilts or pans the smartphone.

The handset includes a complete virtual QWERTY keypad along with Swype Technology that enables swifter input of text and a more intuitive way of putting in text with a singular continuous finger motion across the screen keyboard. The virtual QWERTY keypad makes the device apt to deliver a complete suite of messaging options like text, picture, video and voice messages and offering complete support for corporate and personal e-mail accounts.

In order to further enhance the corporate email experience, it supports Android Éclair Exchange ActiveSync e-mail so that users can synchronize corporate e-mail contacts and calendars from their office e-mail accounts. This feature lets users’ sync calendar information from portal calendars on Exchange Google Calendar and social networking services (SNS), along with Facebook forming an integrated calendar. It also integrates contacts by synchronizing them with Exchange, Google, Twitter and Facebook. It then displays the contacts under four categories Information, History (earlier calls and messages), Activities (status updates and notifications) and Media (Facebook profile photos and photo gallery).

The Samsung Fascinate from Verizon Wireless comes loaded with 5.0-megapixel camera or camcorder. It sports Auto-focus and LED flash which facilitates HD video recording and playback function to assist in capturing photos and videos for playback on the user’s HD television. The Wi-Fi enabled device comes with a 2GB internal memory that can be expanded up to 32GB with a microSD slot. A 16GB microSD card has been included with the handset. The smartphone offers Stereo Bluetooth Technology supporting headset, hands-free, phonebook access, stereo, object push for vCard and vCalendar.

Samsung’s latest offering features V CAST Music with Rhapsody, V CAST Video on Demand, V CAST Song ID, V CAST Tones, Visual Voice Mail, VZ Navigator and Mobile IM, City ID. It also integrates Samsung’s Social Hub which is built around contacts, messaging and calendar sync that enables the user to send and receive information, be it social networking sites, e-mail or messaging.

The handset also embeds the AllShare Application which provides inter-device connectivity via Digital Living Network Alliance (DLNA). Thus, the app enables users to directly send multimedia content wirelessly to other DLNA-enabled devices like laptops and TVs. The device bundles up features like Daily Briefing, providing direct access to weather, news, stocks and schedule and Weather Clock that shows the current time and weather of a selected city, it also offers the means of adding and choosing other cities.

The Samsung Fascinate provides a Write and Go facility that lets the user to write down an idea and later decide on its format, whether its SMS/ MMS, e-mail, calendar or memo. The feature also endows the user to post the idea on Social Networking sites such as Facebook, Twitter and MySpace. The device empowers users to instantly access feeds and updates from multiple SNS sites, thus leveraging the smartphone’s stance as an entertainment and media device.

Samsung’s Galaxy S Fascinate should soon be available in the market. However, the exact release date and the pricing details are still not out.
