Samsung launches Amoled 12M Camera Phone

Samsung Amoled Handset Samsung launches the new Samsung Amoled 12M (SCH W880) which claims to be the world’s first 12MP camera phone with a 3x optical zoom. This magnificent handset is said to reach the Korean market in October.

With this phone, Samsung achieves yet another milestone in the camera phones arena. The phone incorporates advanced imaging technology with the world’s most advanced WVGA Amoled full touchscreen giving users an amazing experience.

“Samsung has led the camera phone market by introducing many landmark models? the first 5-megapixel camera phone (SCH-V7800, June 2005), the first 7-megapixel device with an optical zoom (SCH-V770, July 2005), the first 10-megapixel model (SCH-B600, October 2006) and, most recently, the first 12-megapixel camera phone for the global market (Samsung Pixon12, June 2009),” said JK Shin, Executive Vice President and Head of the Mobile Communication Division, Samsung Electronics. “The Samsung AMOLED 12M is another landmark and proof of our continuing commitment to providing the most advanced technology to enrich users’ mobile experience.”

The phone introduces 3x optical zoom with 12 MP camera, enabling users to capture their cherished moments. Pictures at a far distance can be captured without any distortion, thanks to the 3x optical zoom lens. It comes with a Xenon flash, Shake reduction, Face recognition and 4GB built-in memory.

The AMOLED 12M boasts of 3.3-inch screen and wide variety of functions facilitating users to capture, browse and share images with their loved ones.

With a camera power key, users can capture high clarity images efficiently. The phone offers quick image saving features that enables users to switch on to the next shot in an interval of mere two seconds. It offers high-quality video recording (1280 x 720 resolution) of 30 frames per second.

Additionally, the phone features several dynamic camera functions. The Touch Auto-Focus feature allows users to choose a main focus point using a finger while the lens automatically traces the object and keeps the object in focus even if the screen moves. The Smart Auto feature automatically adjusts the shooting mode depending on the object, background and lighting conditions that allows users to take clear and sharp images.
