Samsung goofs up, unofficially confirms Galaxy Tab 4 series

We’ve seen the Samsung Galaxy Tab 4 series get leaked multiple times and even spotted it get certified at the FCC and now, we’ve got confirmation of its existence from the company itself. The South Korean conglomerate has disclosed that the new tablet range will come in three options, 7-inch, 8-inch and 10.1-inch.

Unwired View spotted the tablets on the official Gear Fit product page where all three models were mention under the compatible devices section. Just so you know, Samsung is yet to formally unveil the Galaxy Tab 4 series. No other details were provided about the tablets, but we’ve got previous leaks to thank for that. Based on what we know so far, the new lineup will continue to deliver the same form factor as the current Tab 3 and Tab 3 Lite.

The main difference will be in the hardware where the company plans to deliver beefier specs compared to the current configurations. The 8-inch and 10.1-inch models will have a 1280 x 800p display, while the 7-inch option might come with a lower resolution screen.

All variants will run on Android 4.4 KitKat and they will be powered by a quad core Snapdragon 400 processor clocked at 1.2GHz which is a decent upgrade over the dual core chips in the current tablets.

Apart from these, the Samsung Galaxy Tab 4 series will have 16GB of internal memory and 64GB of expandable storage. The company plans to make these tablets available as budget-friendly options and you can expect them to arrive in Wi-Fi only and cellular choices.

There’s still no word on when the Samsung Galaxy Tab 4 series will go official.
