Samsung comes together with U.S. Cellular to introduce its latest compact QWERTY phone called the Samsung Gloss, also dubbed as the SCH-u440. This stylish and efficient handset boasts of an elegant flip design and enables sending text messages with ease thanks to its QWERTY keyboard.

The Samsung Gloss is available in pink and charcoal colors and has a 2.2” QCIF 262K TFT Landscape display. The phone has dimensions of around 2.55”x 2.94” x .82”. It has stereo Bluetooth which allows effortless handsfree communication. It also sports a 1.3 megapixel in-built camera and a music player. In addition to this, users can store loads of music, pictures or videos with the 16GB external memory capacity offered by the phone.

“Customers are looking for more out of their cell phones every day. The Samsung Gloss offers a full QWERTY keyboard for easy texting as well as a built in camera and music player to make this phone a unique all-in-one device,” commented Alan D. Ferber, Chief Marketing Officer at U.S. Cellular.

The handset additionally comprises of U.S. Cellular’s suite of enhanced wireless data application services called easyedge. This application service provides access to Your Navigator which has voice turn by turn directions. It also offers news, weather applications, games and many other applications. The phone is preloaded with Tone Room which is a ringtone shop that is regularly updated with music from every genre. Users can also use City ID which is an enhanced caller ID feature that displays details of incoming calls.

The pricing details of the phone are not yet known.
