The Samsung Galaxy Tab 3 10.1 has made a very late appearance through the company’s India-specific eStore for Rs 36340. It’s been well over 9 months since the tablet was officially introduced along with its 8-inch and 7-inch siblings. But Samsung only saw fit to launch the smallest tablet in the country so far.
Now the Galaxy Tab 3 10.1 has waddled into the eStore without so much as an official announcement about its entry. Maybe it’s better not to make a big fuss over a Wi-Fi only, dual core tablet when there are cheaper quad core options available, albeit in smaller form factors?
But then we’re comparing two quad devices carrying Nvidia Tegra and Qualcomm Snapdragon chips to one with an Intel Atom processor. The Samsung tablet carries a 1.6GHz dual core Intel Atom Z2560 SoC. It has a 10.1 display which shamelessly holds on to the same 1280 x 800p resolution it’s been sporting since the original hit markets.
This slab of Android is upgradeable to KitKat even if it comes with Jelly Bean out-of-the-box. It’s got 1GB of RAM and 16GB of onboard storage which is expandable to 64GB. A 3MP camera sits on the rear panel, while a 1.3MP one is perched above the screen. The 8600mAh battery inside is capable of rendering up to 8 hours of mixed usage.
