Samsung Galaxy S8+ now Rs 9000 cheaper

The Samsung Galaxy S8+ has gotten a major discount, its second one since it was launched back in April this year. However, the company has only marked down the price of the 6GB of RAM and 128GB of ROM variant.

To recap, the 6GB/128GB Galaxy S8+ first made its way to India in June 2017, a couple of months after the 4GB/64GB versions hit shelves. It cost a whopping Rs 74900 at first, but this was then reduced to Rs 70900 in July. It’s now received a further Rs 5000 drop down to Rs 65900. Overall, the handset has become Rs 9000 cheaper.

Samsung hasn’t given an official reason as to why it decided to discount the 6GB/128GB Galaxy S8+ twice. The most recent one has likely come about to pave the path for the Galaxy Note 8 which is rumored to cost around Rs 70000 in India.

The cut also serves to put the 6GB/128GB Galaxy S8+ almost at-par with the 4GB/64GB Galaxy S8+. The latter is currently available at Rs 64900. For Rs 1000 more, buyers of the former will get double the storage and 2GB of additional RAM.
