The Samsung Galaxy S21 FE has finally been announced and as expected, it’s a mid-range phone with flagship-grade specs. It offers a lower price point for people to jump the S21 bandwagon, with its price starting at $699 for the version with 6GB of RAM and 128GB of storage and going to $769 for the version with 8GB of RAM and 256GB of storage.
Although the Samsung Galaxy S21 FE comes bearing impressive specs, none of those is surprising. The South Korean giant had released the S20 FE last year with a similar approach and the phone had turned out to be quite a winner.
The Galaxy S21 FE ships with a 6.4-inch FHD+ AMOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate and a 240Hz touch sampling rate. The 5G-equipped Snapdragon 888 chip fuels its operations, taking power from a 4,500mAh battery that supports 25W wired charging and 15W wireless charging.
This new Samsung device also grabs IP68 dust and water resistance. It runs Android 12-based One UI 4.0 and comes with a triple rear camera setup that includes an OIS-equipped 12MP f/1.8 shooter, a 12MP ultra-wide camera, and an 8MP telephoto camera supporting 3x optical zoom. You also get a 32MP front camera with this device.
The Galaxy S21 FE of course comes with Samsung’s Night Mode, while it even ships with support for Multi-camera recording, which combines feed from the front and rear cameras into a single video. An Object Eraser tool also makes its way into the handset, apart from AI face restoration support that uses deep learning to enhance textures in the eyebrows and lips.
The Samsung Galaxy S21 FE will start being made available from January 11 onwards at the above-mentioned prices.
