While most device manufacturers are going for third party processors to stay ahead in the race, Samsung stuck to its own Exynos 4210 processor to power the Galaxy S II. According to Engadget, Samsung will now include the Nvidia Tegra 2 SoC in some of its Galaxy S II smartphones.

One of the reasons contributing to this shift in preference might be the fact that Samsung is yet to garner speed when it comes to producing enough of its own SoCs. Until then, Nvidia’s Tegra 2 which delivers the same 1GHz speed as Exynos is likely to fill in the shoes.

It has also emerged that Samsung will use their own Exynos processor in some of its forthcoming high-end smartphones. There are many speculations afloat that those living in the U.S. and the U.K will still be getting the Exynos powered models.

Official details regarding which parts of the world the Tegra 2 powered handsets will be launched are yet to be made public.
