Samsung Galaxy Note reaches 1 million shipment mark, to arrive in USA next year

Launched two months ago in October, the Samsung Galaxy Note seems to have struck a chord with the masses as it has recorded more than 1 million shipments within this short span of time. Residents of the U.S. need not wait too long as the company has revealed that its smartphone cum tablet is scheduled to make its debut in the nation early next year.

According to Samsung, global sales of its Galaxy device are increasing at a fast rate in European and Asian countries such as Germany, Hong kong, Taiwan and France. The Verge reports that this slate which measures 5.3 inches appears to have been made for tablet as well as smartphone lovers as it is capable of serving the purposes and functions of both the mobile devices.

A Samsung official, commented, “1 million global shipping of Galaxy Note means it has well positioned itself as a market creator. Samsung will continuously strengthen its leadership in the global smartphone market as well as create new markets with innovative devices.”

Running on a 1.4GHz dual core processor, this gadget comes equipped with a 5.3-inch WXGA 1280 x 800p HD Super AMOLED display. It is integrated with pen input technology known as the S Pen which allows users to operate the device with their fingers or by using the accompanying Smart Pen. Powered by Android 2.3, the Galaxy Note possesses a 2MP front facing camera and an 8MP rear facing snapper with action, beauty and panorama shots as well as 1080p HD video recording and smile shot functionalities.

The Samsung Galaxy Note had debuted in India recently with a price tag of Rs. 34, 990. Its exact release date and price details in the U.S. have not yet been revealed.
