Finally setting its foot in India, the Samsung Galaxy Note was officially launched at a press event held in Mumbai today. The company has designed it to be a smartphone and tablet hybrid and it is equipped with a 5.3-inch WXGA 1280 x 800p HD Super AMOLED display.

Powered by a 1.4GHz dual core processor, the gadget is incorporated with the pen input technology known as the S Pen. Users can operate the device with their fingers or the accompanying Smart Pen that features handwriting recognition for converting their handwriting into digital format easily so users need not trouble themselves over the task before being able to share content with others.

The newest Samsung arrival is a slim device running on Android 2.3 and integrated with 16GB internal storage which can be expanded up to 32GB via the microSD card slot. It sports a 2MP front and an 8MP rear facing camera with action shot, beauty, panorama shot and smile shot functionalities. Users are enabled to shoot videos in 1080p HD on the integrated camera.

The Samsung Galaxy Note is now available through leading electronic retailers in India and it has a price tag of Rs. 34,990 attached to it.
