Samsung Galaxy Note 2 officially gets treated to Android Jelly Bean 4.3 update

The much-awaited Android Jelly Bean 4.3 update has finally been rolled out for the Samsung Galaxy Note 2. And the firmware now officially makes the device compatible with the Galaxy Gear that requires this particular version of the Android platform to communicate with a smartphone.

As SamMobile reports, this is the first time when the South Korean company has updated the second generation Note phablet. It was launched with the Android 4.1.2 OS and continues to run it even now. The roll out has already started and it should reach you sooner rather than later, if it hasn’t already. And if you have second thoughts about updating their handsets after listening to what happened to Galaxy S3 phones, do not worry, as this software is fairly stable.

So here’s what you can expect apart from Galaxy Gear compatibility. There’s TRIM support for improving the gadget’s speed and Samsung KNOX, Wallet as well as enhanced RAM management which should enhance navigation between applications. A new keyboard, elements of the Galaxy S4, and updated GPU drivers will be some of the welcome changes in your device.

Fresh lockscreen features have also arrived on the phablet. These include the ability to change clock size, keep a personal message, a better ripple effect than earlier and multiple widgets. All those who have been looking forward to the move-to-SD card feature will be glad to know that it is here. New camera modes like Sound and Shot have been tossed in and so are actionable notifications, driving mode, voice controls and a revamped Setting UI.

As we said, the Android Jelly Bean 4.3 update for the Samsung Galaxy Note 2 has already been made available.
