Disclosed earlier this month, the much awaited Samsung Galaxy Nexus is set to retail in the UK from November 17, as revealed on Amazon UK. This is the first smartphone to run on the newest Android operating system, Google Ice Cream Sandwich.

The Android 4.0 handset boasts of a 4.65-inch 1280 x 720p HD Super AMOLED capacitive multi-touch display and is integrated with 1GB RAM. Users can benefit from the speedy browsing experience that the incorporated 1.2GHz dual core processor provides. Accompanied by a 3.5mm audio jack, it is embedded with a 1.3MP front and a 5MP rear facing camera possessing zero shutter-lag, LED flash, digital zoom and autofocus features.

This 135.5mm x 67.94mm x 8.94mm Samsung device lets users choose among the many connectivity options it supports including 4G, 3G, Wi-Fi, Wi-Fi Direct and Bluetooth. Exclusive to this 135g smartphone are some new and interesting features such as Face Unlock and Android Beam. Also, it features various navigation technologies like points of interest, turn-by-turn and voice navigation.

While Android Beam enables users to share content like apps, contacts, websites, maps and YouTube videos easily via NFC, the Face Unlock functionality eliminates the need of passwords for security. Powered by a 1750mAh battery, it also enables users to type messages via voice input and is preloaded with support for Google Wallet in the future and Google+.
