Samsung displays Stylish Phones at Mobile Asia 2008, India

Samsung logo Samsung India has showcased its wide range of new, stylish and elegant mobile phones at Mobile Asia 2008, India. Along with the company’s flagship ‘Soul’, ‘Serenata’ and ‘Armani’ models, Samsung presented the SGH –i450, SGH-G800, i550, D 880, i780, F250, F490, P960 and J210 phones. With this, Samsung plans to target consumers who prefer phones from Multimedia (Imaging & Music), Business Lifestyle and Popular segments.

According to Sunil Dutt, Country Head, Samsung Telecommunications India Ltd., “We are using the Mobile Asia platform to launch a series of new sleek and stylish Samsung mobile phones that exemplify cutting-edge technology and design innovation .The unique and clearly differentiated features of these phones makes the Samsung 2008 mobile range the complete answer to consumer needs across different segments of the market.”

Priced at Rs. 15,000, the Samsung SGH –i450 music phone offers a Mobile Theatre experience with its CE Power amplifiers by Bang & Olufsen, delivering 3D surround sound. The music wheel and the Dual-Slider form factor features 2.4-inch LCD screen, a robust internal memory of 40GB and the ability to store, access and juggle music.

Boasting to be the world’s first 5 mega pixel camera phone, the Samsung SGH-G800 sports 3x optical zoom, face detection , Xenon flash and Wide Dynamic Range (WDR). Users can easily share images and video and even upload to the User Created Contents (UCC) site. It costs Rs. 21,799.

A powerful multimedia phone, the Samsung F490 is equipped with 3.2-inch TFT screen, full touch user interface, a 5 Mega pixel camera, video playback (@ 30 frames per second) and recording capabilities.

Samsung’s SGH-i550 business phone runs on Symbian S60 OS and integrates GPS receiver, five hot keys for music, camera, navigation, internet and main menu; trackball for 360 degree movement, 3 mega pixel camera, Bluetooth audio streaming. It retails for Rs. 25,000.

The Samsung D 880, the dual GSM Sim phone bundles 3.2 Mega Pixel Camera, 2.3” Wide LCD screen, Bluetooth and Stereo FM radio and is priced at Rs. 13,799. The Samsung SGH-i780 handset comes with a full QWERTY keyboard with touch screen, Wi-fi support, 2-megapixel camera and Windows Mobile 6.0 complaint that provides email, MS Office, MSN Chat; GPS capabilities, an optical mouse.

In the popular segment, Samsung introduced F250 that incorporates an advanced Music UI, 1.3 mega pixel camera, Bluetooth, music console (hot key) and Stereo FM. It carries a estimated price of Rs 7699. The stylish and compact Samsung J210 offers 2 mega pixel camera phone, FM recording and Bluetooth music streaming and sells for Rs. 6,649.

The company also presented Soul, Serenata and Armani mobile phones from its Lifestyle category. The features of the slim, lightweight and stylish Soul phone includes Magic Touch by DaCP, navigation indicators on the keypad, 5 megapixel camera, music library navigation and digital power amplifier by ICEpower technology by Bang & Olufsen.

Samsung has also showcased Samsung P960, a Mobile TV phone at the event. Totally, the company must have presented a total of 18 models at the Mobile Asia 2008 in Delhi.
