For those waiting for the phone to arrive on this network, here’s some exciting news. AT&T finally lifts the covers off the Samsung Captivate and also reveals its new pricing details.

The Samsung Captivate sports a 5MP camera coupled with functions like smile detection, HD video recording and face detection. The handset operates on 1GHz Samsung Hummingbird application processor and packs in 16GB user memory expandable up to 32GB. The Bluetooth 3.0 enabled device allows connectivity at a speed of 7.2 Mbps with Wi-Fi connection. The android powered mobile phone carries a 4 inch super AMOLED touchscreen which provides the user with a novel viewing and gaming experience.

The phone comes with Swype technology proffering users with an effortless and speedy text input capability. With this feature, users can type more than 50 words in one minute.
