Samsung seeks to commercialize 5G by 2020

Samsung, by revealing details about the world’s first 5G mmWave mobile technology, has given us hopes to look forward to a day when content will be downloaded via handsets at ultra-fast speeds. On Monday, the smartphone maker revealed that this development will cause the fifth generation mobile communication system to be several folds faster than the current 4G LTE networks.

The company has gone ahead to state that it has successfully engineered the adaptive array transmitter technology which rests at the hub of the network. It claimed through a post on its official blog that this should authorize the transmission of massive data files with barely any restrictions. To elaborate further, it has included 3D movies and games and real-time streaming of UHD content in the list.

While a number of markets are still deprived of 4G LTE networks, the manufacturer has already leaped over the first hurdle on its way to commercializing the fifth generation cellular communication system. The blog report moreover highlights the fact that China had initiated the endorsement of this campaign by being the first to establish an IMT-2020 (5G) Promotions Group which was led by the government.

The nation took this step in the month of February last year. Not willing to miss out on a chance to let such an opportunity pass them by, the European commission has agreed to back this program by investing €50 million. In this age when smartphones have begun swarming the markets in multitudes, even as they explore newer grounds with respect to features and technologies, it looks like no company wants to be left behind in this race.

All we can say at the moment is that the South Korean manufacturer seems to have taken the cake in this scenario. Since we have mentioned the company’s innovative streak, let’s also take into consideration that it was the first to pioneer the utilization of an octa core processor in a smartphone. Of course everybody must’ve heard of the Galaxy S4?

At present, Samsung has disclosed its plan to boost the progress of 5G so as to make the mobile communication system available to the masses by 2020.
