Reliance Jio’s Summer Surprise offer was announced with great fanfare about a week ago, extending the previous Happy New Year Offer for another 3 months. However, the telecom brand was later forced to kill the promotion after TRAI stated that it did not comply with the current regulatory framework.
Reliance Jio isn’t letting TRAI’s decision get in the way of launching yet another scheme called Dhan Dhana Dhan for people who couldn’t sign up for the Summer Surprise offer though. The new scheme is very similar to the latter, allowing people to have access to free SMSes, voice calls, Jio apps, and unlimited data for 3 months.
Individuals can choose between two recharge packs. One offers 1GB of data per day and the other 2GB of data per day. Jio Prime members will have to recharge Rs 309 for the first and Rs 509 for the latter in order to get Dhan Dhana Dhan benefits.
New Jio and non-Prime customers will have to pay Rs 408 and Rs 608, respectively. The increased cost includes the Rs 99 consumers have to pay to join the brand’s Jio Prime subscription service. People who have already signed up for the Summer Surprise scheme can’t sign up for Dhan Dhana Dhan as well.

Once everything has been over and done with, individuals on the Dhan Dhana Dhan scheme will get 84 days worth of free services. The recharge which they buy will kick in only after this period is over. The last day to sign up for the new promotion is April 15.
