Qualcomm has launched the Vellamo Mobile Web Benchmark that seeks to evaluate the browser performance on Android devices. The app emphasizes on all aspects of web browsing like performance as well as stability.

Furthermore, it provides a complete view of the functionalities of the browser with respect to networking, JavaScript, rendering as well as user experience. Touted to adhere to the industry standards and custom tests, the benchmark will strive to keep a track on web browsing performance.

The app comprises of 11 tests and it happens to be compatible with almost any device running Android 2.1 and higher versions of the mobile OS. Gadgets apparently don’t have to necessarily pack a Qualcomm-made processor to avail of the facility.

Among the 11 tests, the first 4 evaluate the rendering of the browser. Tests starting from the fifth up to the seventh constitute gauging of Javascript while the next 3 check the user experience. The last test measures the networking abilities of the browser.

This is not the first time that the company has stepped in with such an app. It is already responsible for the graphics benchmark Neocore. The current version of the app is 1.0 and has a size of 3.7MB. Android users need not shell out even a penny to lay hands on the Qualcomm Vellamo Mobile Web Benchmark app.
