Chinese manufacturer QiKU is planning to enter India with its flagship Terra 808 and Terra 810 handsets by the end of November. The phones were launched in its home country a few weeks ago and sold 35000 units within 8 seconds via a flash sale.
QiKU is a relatively new player and was started as a joint venture between Coolpad and Qihoo. The company is keeping mum on the Indian price and availability details of the Terra 808 and 810 for now. It starts at $314 in China, which converts to approximately Rs 20689. The smartphones run on the Android 5.1 Lollipop-based 360 OS.
Its software boasts of enhanced security features such as ad blocking, Trojan virus protection, and an anti-fraud system designed to intercept spam messages and calls. Taking a closer look at the specs of the QiKU Terra 810, the device houses a 6-inch QHD (2560 x 1440p) display with a pixel density of 497ppi and Corning Gorilla Glass 3.
The device is backed by a 3700mAh battery equipped with fast charging technology, which enables it to be fully powered within 70 minutes. It’s powered by a 2GHz Snapdragon 810 64-bit octa-core processor coupled with 4GB of RAM. The QiKU phone contains 64GB of expandable ROM and 4GB of RAM.
The QiKU Terra 808 has been granted a fingerprint scanner on its rear surface that apparently unlocks the device within 0.5 seconds. It carries 2 13MP cameras on its back accompanied by an aperture of f/1.8 and a Sony IMX278 sensor. Selfies can be taken through its 8MP front-facing snapper.
The QiKU Terra 808 looks to be the cheaper option between the two. It has similar features to its cousin except it comes with a Snapdragon 808 CPU, 2GB of RAM and 16GB of ROM. We’ll keep you posted when the devices arrive in India.
