Promptu Systems Corporation has released ShoutOUT which is a speech-to-text application and allows the user to text in a natural voice without typing it out. The application has been made available for both iPhone and Android phones.
ShoutOUT integration in Android is a premier release of the application that has been implemented in the text messaging client available in the device and is inclusive of voice-addressing as well. In order to culminate the application, a customized acoustic model is presented to every ShoutOUT user while registering for the application.
Annotating on the launch of ShoutOUT, Promptu’s CEO Giuseppe Staffaroni said that, “ShoutOUT is the first manifestation of our vision for totally hands-free messaging, and with the release of ShoutOUT on two of most popular smart phone platforms, we are now one giant step closer towards delivering on that promise.”
The ShoutOUT application has impressive features like shake-to-clear, text-acceleration user-interface, ability to forward messages, multi-texting, incoming message notifications, optional thumbnails for contacts and access to received and sent messages through one-click button. The application is based on a server that works automatically without any sort of human-interference, thus safeguarding text messages that are received on the user’s phone.
The application does not cost anything for Android users as of now, and comes inclusive of the voice dictation feature. There is no word on the pricing of the application for the iPhone.
