Don’t be fooled by its size, but Pressy is here to furthermore simplify the functionalities of an Android smartphone. In a bid to make devices more appealing and ‘user-friendly’, manufacturers may have lengthened the process of performing mundane activities, indicate Nimrod Back and Boaz Mendel who are the masterminds behind this project.

The petite pin-like object fits right where those earphones are meant to be plugged in and connecting it with the free Pressy app just works towards trimming down the time and effort required to carry out a slew of activities. It has been crafted to perform three actions out of the box, but that doesn’t mean users can’t have some fun customizing the gadget with their own set of processes.

We’re guessing that Back and Boaz have a strange affinity towards the flashlight functionality (and bears, if you see the video attached below) as they have not only used it as an example almost everywhere, but a short click on Pressy will toggle the flash. At the same time, a long click facilitates hopping to the silent mode and back, while double click ensures capturing images.

Apart from choosing what action the device should perform, users could also personalize each activity’s settings. Want to capture a picture without letting anyone know? Customize the function to take snapshots with the screen off and no shutter sound or flash.

In a matter on two days, the dynamic duo has managed to breach the $100,000 milestone on Kickstarter, which in itself is more than double the pledged amount for the Pressy campaign. And knowing how easy it is to misplace the tiny device, especially when listening to music becomes more important than anything else, the makers have tossed a keychain into the lot. Backers can expect the delivery to kick off sometime in March.
